Trip in a Nutshell

The Atacama desert is one of the most unexpectedly gorgeous place in the world. It may have never rained in some areas of this desert land, but the place is a freaking oasis of natural beauty. From volcanoes, dunes & canyons to salt flats, lakes and geysers it's harder to find a sight that isn't stunning. To top it off, you can literally see the shape of the Milky Way on a Atacama night sky. Based out of the quaintsy tourist town of San Pedro de Atacama, where operators willing to show you the sights are falling over each other to get your money, not many others (if any) can give you the true cultural context of this ancient, historic and barren land like these guys.

Bragability Factor

  • The largest geyser field in the southern hemisphere
  • Sunset at Valle de Luna with stunning views of a moon-like barren landscape
  • Floating in waters about as salty as than the Dead Sea
  • Kickass views of Chile's most active volcano from the second largest salt-flats in the world
  • An opportunity to really understand the culture behind indigenous Atacama
  • San Pedro de Atacama, Chile
  • February through March
  • 4 days, 3 nights
